The Connors Center is committed to advancing research on women’s health across multiple areas, including maternal mental health. Our work focuses on identifying risk factors implicated in the development of conditions, such as postpartum anxiety and depression, and childbirth-related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), delineating the life experiences of those affected by these conditions, and understanding barriers to treatment. To address these questions, our Community-focused Maternal Mental Health team employs a broad range of approaches, including surveys, interviews, and observational studies, while also leveraging population-level data to gain a comprehensive understanding of the factors shaping maternal mental health outcomes. Through our research, we aim to improve early identification and intervention strategies, ultimately supporting the well-being of mothers and their families.
