ROSA Center Funding Renewed for 5 More Years

We are thrilled to announce that the Reproductive Outcomes of Stress and Aging (ROSA) Center, has received funding for an additional five years from the National Institute of Health, Office of Research on Women’s Health and the National Institute of Aging. The ROSA Center is one of 10 Specialized Centers of Research Excellence (SCORE) on Sex Differences across the country. This renewal period will allow our team to investigate the role of Artificial Light at Night (ALAN) on Vasomotor Symptoms (VMS) in menopausal women.

In the first five years, the ROSA Center has supported 25 pilot awardees and junior investigators, published 52 papers and manuscripts in high profile journals (Lancet, Cell Metabolism, Nature Protocols, JAMA, JAMA Health Forum, Clinical and Translational Medicine, Fertility and Sterility), and presented at 34 local, national, and international conferences. You can learn more about the ROSA Center and read about our outcomes here.

In this renewal period, we welcome additional investigators Dr. Shadab Rahman from the BWH Division of Sleep Medicine and Dr. Carrie Mahoney from the BIDMC Division of Sleep Medicine to expand the interdisciplinary expertise of the ROSA Center. They join our exemplary team of Drs. Hadine Joffe and Pamela Mahon from the BWH Department of Psychiatry, Dr. JoAnn Manson from the BWH Division of Preventative Medicine, Drs. Ursula Kaiser and Victor Navarro from the BWH Division of Endocrinology, Drs. Kathryn Rexrode and Janet Rich-Edwards from the BWH Division of Women’s Health, Dr. Elizabeth Klerman from the MGH Division of Sleep Medicine, Dr. Jorge Chavarro from the Harvard School of Public Health and Dr. Emily Oken from Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Institute.
